My Cycads

The first time I noticed this plant I was mesmerized by its beauty.
I find it so cool as they are called "the living fossils"...

First on my collection .....Dioon spinolosum

and I acquired more... and I loved using this as centerpiece on my garden...

...and another....

...and another....

then i started getting seedlings....

Then I began searching for different species....

I also ordered this book which helped a lot in naming my cycads...

...this is the most common cycad in our country Cycas revoluta..commonly known as "oliba"
..

i also liked the Dioon edule specie with its straight and spineless leaf...

another dioon...

then i got the "pitogo"...also a common cycas in the Philippines...Cycas rumphii

cycas with flush

this is a Ceratozamia latifolia...

this is  Zamia fischerii from a local supplier....

a very common sight in any garden...Zamia furfuracea...."cardboard cycad"....

i also got a Madagascar cycad called Cycas thoursii which looks like a pitogo

This is  Zamia neurophyllidia

I love this big Encephalartos hildebranti

I was yearning for more cycads .. and I finally got my wish... Encephalartos ferox...

and a birthday gift from my husband...

                                                                   Dioon edule

Just like any collector I  have this feeling of "just one more" on my wish list.
I began my collection last quarter of this year...
Hope that in the years to come I can add more...
